NOT AFRAID
I am not afraid of state terrorists with flags,
the Star of David, Stars and Bars, the Union Jack
with their precision bombs, dirty bombs, cluster bombs, F bombs (i.e F as in Fascist),
bomblets of lies scattered in the public squares
of towns and villages from Qana to Amarillo.
I am not afraid of plastic talking heads or criminals in suits
or smiling smarmy men in pasty makeup
peddling wide-eyed fear and damnation
and the clash of barbarities
masquerading as civilizations.
I am not afraid of boogymen or monsters under my bed
or dark-eyed, brown-skinned strangers on the airplane seat next to me
surreptitiously decanting suspicious liquids from the bubbling flasks
of a B movie chemistry set.
I am not afraid of phone tappers, internet interceptors, spooked out NSA directors
or oily war criminal attorney generals who get their jollies
listening to my girlfriend and me as we lasciviously perform our phone sex shtick
for their pervo-porn loving benefit between the clicks and pops of their
fuck-the-fourth amendment techno-chop shop and data mining emporium.
I am not afraid of grinning presidential puppets,
sneering shotgun-wielding deadeye Dickless
Hummer-driving overcompensating Rovian brown-shirted
Hail to the Fuhrer in Chief repugnant supplicants.
Say it with me.
I am not afraid
I am not afraid
Do not be afraid
Do not be afraid
We are not afraid
We are not afraid
