A SCAR SAYS
a scar says
you are alive
that flesh can be parted
and flesh can be fused
a stutter of tongue says
you are not afraid
to be unfinished
and falter again
a twisted bone says
you break
but you heal and imperfection
proves the healing
a scored belly says
you swelled with blood
the folded bud
and unfolded it to life
your wrinkles gentle mother
say you endured
their softness says
you endured with love
patience says
passion is cool
its work not wasted
its energy moves
this breath
whispering thanks
is soon gone
another one follows
